Where the Heart Is

Since 2011, Project Inti has been providing aid and education to under served children and families living in the high Andes of Peru. Some of our past projects have included teaching Leave No Trace principles, basic first aid, basic nutrition, proper hygiene, and disease prevention. Throughout the years, we have served more than 2,000 families and children.

If you desire to truly immerse and learn about an ancient culture, explore the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu and Peruvian Andes countryside, all while giving back to the communities, our trip is for you! We invite you to join us and learn about Inca culture and spirituality, challenge yourself by walking in the same steps as the Inca, and engage in outreach to under served families.

Angie Parris-Raney has been traveling to Peru for the past 11 years with a focus on adventure travel and giving back to under served communities through healing touch, aid, and education. She co-founded Project Inti with Peruvian native, Saul Palma Herrera.  For more than 15 years, Saul has shared his passion of his culture and spirituality with visitors from around the world. A native of Ollantaytambo and deeply involved with his community, Saul welcomes you with open arms sharing many Inca traditions along the way.

Why join our volunteer group trip? We design our trip plan around hiking into some of these communities, learning about their culture and way of life, and giving back in small ways. You get to participate and experience this culture, not just observe. We take you to see some of the most incredible scenery that many visitors never get to witness. In addition to the amazing citadel of Machu Picchu and other breathtaking Inca sites, you are rewarded with the generosity of these people. We promise you--we will take you on a spiritual journey you won't forget and you will return home a person forever changed!

In addition, we take you on an inner wellness journey through meditation and introduce you to Andean Shaman rituals. Angie is a licensed massage professional and has studied various healing techniques over the past two decades, including Thai massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Primordial Sound Meditation and Ayurveda at the Chopra Center, and recently has been initiated into the Pampa Mesayoq lineage as a Paqo Shaman with Peru (Q'ero) Shamans. Our journeys connect you to Munay, the Quechua word for love. Our goal  is to open our hearts, share our light, commune, and connect through our shared humanity. Our hope is to provide you tools that you can use long after your journey to Peru.
